Pink 2024 Virgin of Guadalupe

A rich assemblage recycled Virgin of Guadalupe.

Pink Virgin of Guadalupe is very similar to another piece I called Blue Virgin of Guadalupe. The interior images of the Virgin in both artworks came from an old two-sided souvenir I took apart and up-cycled into twin cardboard box top nichos. I added rusty wire hanging hardware and other handmade touches, such as gilded edges, twigs I found in the park, thrifted faux flowers and tassels made from recycled embroidery floss.

The tassels are the key to the names of these. They are pink 2024 on this one, and blue on the other.
