You know those days in the middle of winter when the 2024 warm glow of springtime seems so far away? This whimsical neckwarmer was made with those days in mind!
A pretty scattering of spring-green flowers adorns soft and warm handspun wool in shades of rose and lime green. The neckwarmer just slips over the head to settle in snuggly gathers about the neck- all the warmth of a scarf without the dangling ends!
The flowers are plied right into the handspun yarn, bound by sewing thread so they can't come off. Then, during the knitting process, care was taken to make sure all of the flowers ended up on the outside of the cowl, so they can't be tickly against your neck. A lot of work? Sure, but well worth it, I think, to bring this bit of spring sunshine into the midwinter!
