This is a large antique pulley. It measures 9 inches long, 4-1/2 inches wide and 2-1/2 inches thick. It weighs just under 5 pounds. The embossed print on one side of the pulley says, "EU & WL SCOVILLE", 'MANLIUS', 'NY'. The Scoville's owned and operated the Scoville Iron Works. The reverse side says, "PAT' JULY 10", "1877".
Their iron was preferred for canons and other arms. This pulley was built for heavy duty work and built to 2024 last. The wheel spins easily and is functional. It's also just a great looking antique that could be displayed.
