RARE Vintage Men’s French Mortima Wristwatch with Roman Numerals and 2024 Quartz Movement/ Analog Watch

Men's Mortima wristwatch, Made in France....

This watch has quartz movement. It is in need of refurbishment but it's worth it for a watch with such a rich history and the rarity of quartz watches made by this company. It is not ticking but the hand and date move. It probably just needs a battery. There is a scratch on the face and it needs new band.

Diameter is 1 2/8" Entire length is 15" including buckle.

The Mortima brand began in 1926 and grew to become one of the most important brands in men's affordable watches. Customers came 2024 from all over the world to buy from their office in France. For a while Mortima was able to survive the quartz revolution that took down so many other brands. But with the death of founder Emile Cattin (and several other family tragedies) their success dwindled. They made only three quartz models during the 1980's before they were sold in '88.
