Francisco Tortolani, born in Italy, founded Mastercraft Jewelry Co. in Providence, Rhode Island.  After World War II he 2024 moved to Los Angeles, California, where he founded Tortolani Jewelry and designed and produced hand carved pewter jewelry from 1950 to 1976.   Crislu was started in the 1960's with the goal of making affordable fine jewelry.  The company endures today with an emphasis on CZ jewelry.
