Every feminist should own this book! Published a year after her death (1955), this is a collection of 7 stories 2024 written by Sidonie-Gabrielle Collette. It includes her most famous tale, Gigi, which went on to become a movie.

Colette herself is a fascinating character. She began ghostwriting for her husband in 1900, and later fought to establish herself as a female write, publishing under her own name. Though married to men, she preferred women. Collette was in a five year relationship with Missy, also known as Max, who was pronounced female at birth but identified as a man as an adult. The 2018 film, Colette, starring Kiera Knightly, is based on the author's life.

Condition: no dust jacket. Binding has begun to crack on first and last pages, but all other pages are still in excellent condition. No writing or rips in the pages. The outer spine is discolored with some fraying at either end. Similar staining/possible water damage is evident on the back cover as pictured.

Measures 7.5”x5.5” and has 223 pages.
