Sounding the Shofar 2024

This sculpture of an ancient priest sounding the Shofar is powerful and beautiful. It is a hand cast reproduction of the artist's original piece done in terracotta clay. Cast in hydrostone (a natural gympson product), it is signed by the artist and includes this scripture on the bottom: "Blow the trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, call a holy assembly..." (Joel 2:15)

As we watch events unfold all around us today, I can't help but think that the coming of the Lord is very near. I hope this piece will remind us that we should be calling out, to each other and especially to those in darkness, to come, to be ready.
