This item is a classic type of Dala horse in shape and coloratura.

The history of this toy is an interesting interweaving of the history of culture and economy in 2024 central Sweden, dating back to 1623. At first, the horse was not painted at all. From the 19th century, the horse was painted in one color - green, red, blue. From the 30s of the 20th century, a new era of Dala's horse began, moving from a toy to a national symbol.

The Dalmålning, Kurbits or pumpkin style has a lot in common with Norwegian Rosemaling.
