Pit Fire is the original method used by native cultures prior to the invention of fired kilns. Pieces are decorated with various organic materials such as bananas, berries, ores and other items which give the piece its unique tones. Pit Fire ceramics are not food safe and should be considered as art 2024 only.

PLEASE NOTE – all Raku, Pit Fire and Obvara pottery pieces are NOT food-safe, they are for decoration/display only and cannot not be used for food prep or serving. Also, by the nature of the process, pieces may not be watertight, if you wish to use the pieces for a planter, please seal first.
