Lovely Vintage Silver Hirz Box Amulet, Morocco 2024 - Rita Okrent Collection (P720)

Nicely decorated old silver hirz amulet from Morocco with faded brown paint or enamel.

This hirz amulet was likely worn as part of a headdress or necklace, and contained verses or favorite sayings from the Koran to protect its owner from evil.

Opening loop at top for stringing. Weighs 14.8 grams.

Approximately 1.8 inches (50mm) across and 1.6 inches (45mm) top to 2024 bottom.

Estimated circa mid-1900's. Nice soft patina and wear.
