John Hart Thistle Brooch
John Hart was a student of Celtic Art Industries who went on to become a celebrated silversmith in his own right. He also studied under the master silversmith of Iona Island Alexander Ritchie for almost 2024 20 years. John Hart mostly favoured the designs of Alexander Ritchie which can be seen in his own work.
This lovely little brooch of three Scottish thistles is signed with his initials JH on the back, A full hallmark for Edinburgh 1972 and marked Iona Scotland. It has a roll over clasp and is in very good condition.
The brooch measures an inch in diameter.
