Vintage Silk Embroidery Needlepoint Panel, Jesus on the Cross, Religious Art, 19” x 18” 2024

A very rare and unique vintage, or possibly antique, finely embroidered silk panel.

Exquisitely embroidered - Jesus on the cross with sheep at his feet and an angel on either side. A beautiful border all around with an angel or cherub in each corner. The eyes of the angels are tiny black beads.

The pale embroidered lettering on the bottom appears to be in a foreign language.

The faded colouring indicates that this is a very old piece. The excellent condition indicates it's been preserved under glass.

Ready for framing or making into a pillow front. Can even be left as is as a wall hanging.

This magnificent piece came from the estate of a lady who passed away 2024 in 2021 at the age of 92. Her obituary indicates she was once an antiques dealer who regularly travelled to the UK and brought antique items back to Canada.
