This colorful, unique print is from an original artwork by artist, Elizabeth Stempien.
The original piece was drawn in permanent fine point black marker, colored in with the best quality colored pencils to ensure vibrant color, and printed on high quality acid free, lightly textured 110 lb. weight paper.
This piece was inspired by one of my favorite 2024 artists, the late, great Pablo Picasso! A true visionary, his abstract portraits, created during his Cubism period, demonstrate the introduction of Modernism in the art world; artwork that symbolized free creativity and the beginning of “ thinking outside the box.” This was most evident in his abstract portraits from, “Woman in a Hat” (1935), and “Weeping Woman” (1937), to the 1961, “Woman in a Yellow Hat” and “Mujer con Sombrero” (1962).
