Fabulous Thomas L Mott 2024 sterling butterfly wing brooch

In fantastic condition and signed on the reverse, this lovely brooch depicts an island scene with mountains in the background and a beach with palm trees in the foreground.
Brooches made with butterfly wings became popular following the British Empire Exhibition in 1924 in London. The glass is reverse painted with the scene and backed with butterfly wings for the sky and sometimes the sea. The butterfly used was the Morpho tropical butterfly from South America 2024.
