Vintage Turquoise Sterling Silver Brooch Pendant, Vintage 1960s Taxco Mexico, 2024 Signed Melecio Rodrigues

Vintage Mexican sterling silver modernist brooch pendant circa 1950s - 1960s. Marked Sterling Mexico in a circular form with M R in the center, with the Eagle Three stamp.
Complete with an attached bail to convert the brooch to a pendant. Measures 1 3/4", 2024 Weighs 16.3 grams.

The initials MR are for Melecio Rodriguez who was an independent silversmith artist that produced from the 1940's to 1960's. He worked at Rancho Alegre, and was a contemporary and worked with Sigi Pineda and Margot de Taxco (Margot van Voorhies Carr). Influences of both of these latter silversmiths are seen in this brooch.
